Our Motto is “Fight Like Hell”

The CPR-8 crest is a circular emblem composed of a gold (yellow), woven rope border, lettering, trident, oak leaves, and fouled anchor; a blue background; a white and silver sword, fouled anchor rope, and ghosted number 8. The Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army maintains the Institute of Heraldry for all DOD commands. The American College of Heraldry historically the symbols in the CPR-8 crest hold the following meaning and symbolism:

Gold: Generosity and elevation of the mind

Blue: Truth and Loyalty

Silver or White: Peace and Sincerity

Anchor: Hope and spiritual steadfastness

Sword: Justice and Military Honor

Trident: Maritime Dominion

Oak Leaves: Great Age and Strength
