Capt. Jeffrey "Creature" Creighan

Chief of Staff

Captain Jeffrey “Creature” Creighan, a native of Pittsburgh, PA attended the Pennsylvania State University where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering.  Upon graduation he reported to Pensacola, FL for Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in October 2003.  After commissioning, he remained in Pensacola for flight training and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in July 2005.  Following completion of initial training, he was ordered to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE TWO TWO (VFA-122) in Lemoore, CA for follow-on training in the F/A-18F Super Hornet.  

Captain Creighan’s aviation operational sea tours include Strike Fighter Squadron FOUR ONE (VFA-41); Carrier Air Wing NINE (CVW-9); Strike Fighter Squadron NINE FOUR (VFA-94); Commanding Officer of the “Jolly Rogers” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO THREE (VFA-103) in Virginia Beach, VA; and Operations Officer at Carrier Strike Group TWO (CSG-2).  He made six deployments embarked aboard USS NIMITZ (CVN-68), USS JOHN C STENNIS (CVN-74), USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71). USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN-77) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73) in support of numerous missions to include Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOMS SENTINEL.  CAPT Creighan is currently serving as the Chief of Staff to Commander, Carrier Strike Group TWO (CSG-2) in Norfolk, VA.

Captain Creighan’s shore tours include instructor duty at VFA-122; student at the Naval War College in Newport, RI where he earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies; and as the VFA Junior Officer and Department Head Detailer and Assistant Captain Detailer at Navy Personnel Command, PERS-43 in Millington, TN.
CAPT Creighan has accumulated over 3,000 flight hours, including 40 combat missions, and 740 arrested landings.  His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Strike Flight Air Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
