Capt. Foley is from Deerfield, NH and a 2002 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He received his wings in February 2005 in Kingsville, TX, going on to fly the FA-18C Hornet at MCAS Beaufort, SC and the FA-18E/F Super Hornet at NAS Oceana, VA; NAF Atsugi, Japan; and NAS Lemoore, CA.
Capt. Foley’s operational assignments include tours with the “Sidewinders” of Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT SIX (VFA-86), team “Battle Axe” of Carrier Air Wing THREE (CVW-3), the “Dambusters” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE NINE FIVE (VFA-195), and as the “Stingers” Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ONE THREE (VFA-113). He deployed aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) in support of numerous missions to include Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.
Capt. Foley completed additional shore assignments as an instructor pilot in the “Gladiators” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO SIX (VFA-106), a member of the Joint Staff (J7) in Joint Training, and received a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. He is currently assigned to Carrier Strike Group TWO (CSG-2) as the Chief of Staff.
Capt. Foley has accumulated over 3,300 flight hours, including 35 combat missions, and 740 arrested landings. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit, service, and campaign awards.
