Commander James Lee is a native of Asheville, NC. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD in 2007. Commander Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in Oceanography and a minor in Mathematics.

A career Surface Warfare Officer, Commander Lee’s shipboard assignments include:     USS KAUFFMAN (FFG 59) as First Lieutenant, USS ROSS (DDG 71) as Damage Control Assistant, USS MAHAN (DDG 70) as Chief Engineer and USS NORMANDY (CG 60) as Chief Engineer. Ashore he served as a Naval ROTC Instructor at the College of the Holy Cross and attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA. Most recently he completed a 5-year tour at Engineering Assessments Atlantic as the CG class lead.

Commander Lee’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation medal (four awards), Navy Achievement medal (two awards) and various unit, campaign and service awards.
