Captain Lindahl is a native of International Falls, MN. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services from Mankato State University in 1996 and went on to work as a seasonal Law Enforcement Ranger in Yellowstone National Park for two seasons. She received her commission in 2000 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL. She also attended Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), where she earned her Master of Science degree in Joint Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I).
Her operational tours include Communications Officer on USS ANTIETAM (CG 54); Auxiliaries Officer on USS RENTZ (FFG 46); Chief Engineer on USS JARRETT (FFG 33); Materiel Officer at Destroyer Squadron 21; Executive Officer of Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) Uruzgan; Executive/Commanding Officer of USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80) and Surface Operations Officer at Carrier Strike Group TWELVE. She assumed command of USS HERSHEL ‘WOODY’ WILLIAMS (ESB 4) Blue MILCREW in April of 2023.
Ashore, Captain Lindahl’s assignments include Naval Postgraduate School (NPS); Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mission Modules Requirements Officer at OPNAV N96; Post-Department Head Detailer at PERS-41; Surface Warfare Module Head at Tactical Training Group Atlantic (TTGL) and Deputy, Fleet Integrated Readiness and Analysis at United States Fleet Forces Command (USFFC).
Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards).
