Command Master Chief Ranona L. Robinson, a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1999 and completed basic training and seaman apprentice training at Recruit Training Command, Naval Station Great Lakes, IL. She attended Seaman Apprentice Training in Great Lakes, IL.

In November 1999, she reported for her first sea tour onboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, where she served as an undesignated seaman before striking into the Operations Specialist (OS) rating. She served as Combat Direction Center Track Supervisor, completing two Eastern Mediterranean deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In 2004, Master Chief Robinson transferred to Naval Operation Support Center, Chattanooga, TN, completing her shore tour. 

In 2008, she transferred to COMDESRON 15, Yokosuka, Japan, where she served as Staff Watch Officer onboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), decommissioned and transferred to USS George Washington (CVN 73). In March 2010, she transferred to USS Lassen (DDG 82), where she served as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) and OI Division Leading Petty Officer. In March 2012, she reported for duty to Fleet ASW Training Center, San Diego, CA, as ASTAC and Global Command Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M) instructor and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. 

In August 2015, she reported to Afloat Training Group Norfolk, Norfolk, VA as Afloat Training Assessor for Maintenance and Material Management System (3M) in Supply Department. In November 2018,she transferred to COMDESRON TWO SIX, and served as DESRON ASTAC and Command Senior Enlisted Advisor was selected as Command Senior Chief in 2020 while deployed with IKECSG in support of 2020 Operation Freedoms Sentinel in the 6th and 5th Fleet operating areas while attached to Command, Carrier Strike Group TEN (CCSG 10). In February 2022, she reported to 7th Battalion, United States Military Entrance Processing Command and San Diego Military Entrance Processing Station as Senior Enlisted Advisor and was selected to Master Chief.

Command Master Chief Robinson is a graduate of the United States Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 210-ORANGE), the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 20140). She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance from Columbia Southern University.  

Her personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
