Cmdr. Brad Fancher

Commander Fancher is a native of Lumberton, Texas. He graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Technology and holds a Master of Science Degree in Operations Research Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Commander Fancher has served operationally in the Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Fleet Areas of Responsibility to include deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and ALLIES REFUGE. He served as the Electrical Officer on board the USS JUNEAU (LPD 10) Forward Deployed Naval Forces Sasebo, Japan, and a forty-month extended tour as the Engineering Officer onboard USS HARPERS FERRY (LSD-49) bringing the ship through a Mid-Life Upgrade and follow on deployment, earning his first Battle E.
Ashore, he served as a Battle Watch Captain (N33) in NAVCENT, Bahrain, the Lead Exercise Planner (N35) for the Naval Forces Africa EXPRESS SERIES exercise program in the Gulf of Guinea, and the Deputy Executive Assistant to Commander U.S. SIXTH FLEET in Naples, Italy. Before his current assignment, Commander Fancher worked at the Pentagon as part of the Joint Staff, J-5 Strategy and Plans Asia Directorate, as the Political-Military Affairs Officer to Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania.
Decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three), Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (three), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Humanitarian Medal (two), National Defense Service Medal, Battle E (three), and the Expeditionary Service Medal among others.
