Rear Adm. John Menoni

Rear. Adm. John V. Menoni is a native of Oak Park, Illinois. In 1991, he received his commission and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration, a certificate in Systems Analysis from the Naval Post Graduate School, Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) -1 credit from the Naval War College, and JPME-2 credit from the Joint Forces Staff College.
Menoni attended naval flight training in Pensacola, Florida, receiving his wings in October 1993. He is qualified as a pilot in both the H-46 Sea Knight and MH-60S Knighthawk. He has served multiple operational flying tours including Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 5; Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 11; command of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25; commander of the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment supporting ARCENT and Multinational Corps – Iraq. He also served as both executive officer and commanding officer of USS San Diego (LPD-22).
Staff tours include serving as an instructor pilot at Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 3; flag lieutenant at Carrier Strike Group 4; Helicopter Sea and assistant Captain detailer for PERS-4; Joint Enabling Capabilities Command planner for U.S. Forces Korea, U.S. Central Command; Joint Task Force (JTF)-435 / International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), U.S. Africa Command / JTF Odyssey Dawn, executive assistant for Commander, Naval Forces Europe, Africa and Allied Joint Force Command Naples, and as executive assistant for the director, Integration of Capabilities and Resources (OPNAV N8).
Menoni most recently served as U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Representative, Guam Representative, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau / Commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Marianas / Commander, Joint Region Marianas.
