Senior Chief Scott M. Ohrum, Jr., is a native of Richmond, Virginia. In 1998 he graduated from Meadowbrook High School and Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He later graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 235) and earned a bachelor’s and associate’s degree from Grantham University.
Senior Chief Ohrum’s sea tours include USS Cushing (DD 985), USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), USS Gravely (DDG 107), and embarked Task Force New York staff aboard USNS Comfort (AH-20).
His shore assignments include NSGA Kunia, Hawaii, SPAWAR Space Field Activity, Chantilly, Virginia, DISA Europe, and NCTAMS PAC.
He is designated as an Information, Surface, and Aviation Warfare Specialist, and a JFTOC Watch Officer.
Senior Chief Ohrum’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Navy Achievement Medal (5th Award), and various other command, campaign, and personal awards.
Senior Chief Ohrum became the Senior Enlisted Leader of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 6 in October 2020.
