CMDCS Lawrence Comdeco is a native of Blackshear, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Navy in May 2000 under the Delayed Entry Program and reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes in June 2001. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Communications from Excelsior College in 2020.
After graduating from Basic Training, he attended Hospital Corpsman (HM) “A” School in Great Lakes, Fleet Marine Force “C” School in Camp Lejeune, NC, and Aerospace Medical Technician “C” School in Pensacola, FL before reporting to his first command, USS Tarawa (LHA 1). His follow-on tours included Aviation Survival Training Center Patuxent River, Marine Air Group 12, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps - Pentagon staff, Carrier Air Wing 3, and Strategic Communications Wing 1.
He was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program in February 2018 and began his first tour as Command Senior Chief for USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3) Blue Crew in September 2018.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various other medals and service ribbons. He has also earned qualification as a Surface Warfare Specialist, Aviation Warfare Specialist, Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist, Naval Aircrewman, and Information Warfare Specialist.
