Cmdr. Mark Stines

Cmdr. Mark P. Stines is a native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is a 2005 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Transportation Operations and a United States Coast Guard Third Mate's license. He is a 2012 graduate of Norwich University with a Master's Degree in International Relations.
Stines' operational assignments include his initial tour from as a communications officer aboard USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) from 2005-2007; weapons officer at Patrol Coast Crew Golf from 2007-2009; weapons officer and combat systems officer aboard USS NITZE (DDG 94) from 2013-2016; and as navigator aboard USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7) from 2016-2017.
His shore assignments include serving as a ship handling instructor at Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island from 2009-2013 and as the force navigator for Naval Surface Force Atlantic from 2017-2019.
Stines' decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and various other personal, unit and campaign awards.
